The Daily Blade, Volume 1, Issue 100

I MAY HAVE MISSED THE ANNIVERSARY, BUT...

I was thinking the other day, the Blade should be a year old soon. No, it's been a year old for a while now. I think it was the first of November when I said it reading an issue from October 16 of last year. I felt stupid, to say the least. I let the anniversary get by, but now, I present to you, and the three newcomers(Haha Locke) this wonderful, classical, first edition of the Daily Blade, Volume one, Issue one-hundred on this wonderfuly melodramatic evening. Please enjoy. there are some new things, some old things, and I think you all will be pleasently surprised.

AH, HOW CHERISHED TIME IS.

The Daily Blade was first released some time ago when I was really bored. I said I'd only put it out when I felt like it, but hey, things sometimes stay with you. I never expected this, but now I have an ever-working community to help me with this. As time progressed, namely issue 26, the Blade, too, progressed. Before 26, the Blade adopted Letter Box. It didn't take, but in issue 26, Answer Box replaced it. Along with Answer Box, there was the start of the Mega Manday issues, which contained The Week's Thought and 52-TWENTY. The other columns were A Time To Laugh and Check It Out! While 52-TWENTY became a permanent fixture, Answer Box was replaced by Eight-Ball Mayhem. Also, Random Matter filled the scene, and I finally got that top ten and worst five, even though no one votes. They just complain about what songs I pick. Vote for your number one song. Anyway, this should be a tribute issue to the starter, or should I say Star of the Blade, Trivia Time. With it, would the Blade even be worth reading? Oh well, enough blubbering. Read and enjoy!

BURGER KING MAKING BIG MONEY

The pokemon craze has hit Burger King. I got my first toy today, and sadly, it was poliwhirl. I wanted Gyarados or Charmander. Oh well, I will enjoy my Poliwhirl. Thursday I'll get another. I can't wait. I also want to get every other thing that is being sold, but I'm obsessed and also broke. Two horrible combinations.

JEWEL IS QUEEN DIVA.

After releasing her first three albums "Pieces of You," "Spirit" and the Target exclusive "Bits and Baubles," the wonderfully voiced Jewel has released another one just in time for Christmas, which is good since it is a christmas album. Jewel has been recognized as diva, fit into the very class of Tina Turner, Celine Dion, Cher, Aretha Franklin, and many others. I believe this is a fitting tribute to one of the greatest singing out now. I wish I could find her albums.

"POKEMON: THE FIRST MOVIE" SOUNDTRACK MAY NOT BE WORTHWHILE.

The soundtrack to the pokemon movie was released today. I read about it Sunday in an add that prominitly displayed some of the hot artists on it, including Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, 98 Degrees, and N*Sync. I was interested for the first two, but couldn't care about the second. Sadly, Christina has a new song that sounds okay, but Britney put... "Soda Pop", her best song in the whole world on there! I was being sarcastic. "Soda Pop" is her album's worst song in my opinion. It's even worse than her remake of "The Beat Goes On." The song is trying to be a hip-hop type, but fails ultimatly at that. I don't know if I should be happy or sad about that. It boasts lyrics that can't be understood like "Own the sodapop, what it present pop. The clock is ticking and we can't stop." No, that is not what the lyrics are, just what I get. Worst of all, Britney is listed as backing Vocals. I take Christina over Britney on this CD any day.

STILL NOT TOO SHABBY...

I'm listening to Aria De Mezzo Caraterre again, but it seems to be altered ever so slightly. It's not a bad alteration, but it's still a little different. I wonder if Locke passed the opera house yet? He never responded.

COMPELLING UNTIL THE END...

Many people have stated that Stephen King is the master of horror. My opinion is that Stephen King is the master of horror. Wow, what a difference. Anyway, I will first admit to never reading one of his books completely, but I just started reading one of his collections of short stories entitled "Skeleton Crew." I must say, I can't put it down. Sadly, the lastest story I was reading, which I finished just a few minutes ago, was bad. I thought it should have at least revealed something about what was going on. I'm talking "The Mist" by the way. I think it should have ended differently. Oh well. Each to his own. I loved that story "Uncle Otto's Truck."

POKEMON 2 LOW ON STOCK.

Poke'mon 2, or versions Gold and Silver, is only going to have a run of about 1.8 million copies. Nintendo of America is sorry, but due to an earthquake, the game, which isn't even supposed to be out until late next year, will be in low quantities. I just hope I get a copy of Silver.

LOCKE AND KEY

Welcome all to Issue 100! I hope you all enjoy what you've been reading so far. I have only been around for a few issues, but I'm already proud to say that this newsletter has changed from a piece of junk to a good piece of junk. I'm sure it will become much better for issue 200. I plan to set up an official webpage for the Daily Blade this weekend. It'll actually be updated with new editors, back issues, ect. so look for it soon. Head Editor has to send most of the past issues to me first, though. Anyway, I'll see all you Daily Blade readers in issue 101!

EDITOR'S NOTE: You mean you haven't been keeping the issues? Oh, I mean PIECE OF CRAP? Well, I think we can do better than that. So, Brad and Janet, what do you think of it? Janet: "I don't like newsletters with too many stories. Editor: I didn't write it for you. It carries the Washington Post's seal of aproval. Wait, no it doesn't. Curse you Rocky Horror, CURSE YOU!

LOCKE'S LOOK IN THE GAMING WORLD

Today's game is Metal Gear Sold for the Playstation. (Did I do this one yet?) It's a great espionage game with a great storyline and some awesome characters. You play as Solid Snake, a mercenary who must sneak into a secret missle storage base and save the DARPA Chief...But something isn't right. It has great graphics and some cool moments and fights. Now that I think about it..I did do this already, but...Oh well.

RANDOM MATTER.

-This is the most sunscribers the Blade has ever had.
-The Amityville horror was based on a true story. The sequals weren't.
-Most glass that breaks in movies is actually candy.
-The Transformer's movie was rereleased on home video.
-Mancow, to my knowledge, still hasn't apologized to Britney.
-Britney Spears is 17, and her birthday is December 2.

Song of the Day.

"The Saga Begins" by "Wierd" Al.

this song is incredibly funny, and Al is smart by playing off of Star Wars popularity. Of course, he thrives on other people's popularity. Anyway, this song has made me appreciate the real version, "American pie" because without it, there wouldn't be a song like this.

Eight-Ball Mayhem.

Hey, didn't you say Locke was going to get the new subscriber? Chalice got it, but not one, three. Are you under the influences of the Bladewitch still?

Um... to answer that, you would have to be facing away from me so I could whack you in the back of the head. I mean... Very Doubtful.

52-TWENTY

I was taking a break from my daily job in the Blade, and decided to go to the Harbor to buy some grain. The Harbor, mostly known and solely known for it's fish, had no grain. Too bad. I wanted some wheat bread. I continued along the well beaten path, then released my pokemon for some air time. Gyarados just flew around for a while, and Charmander was burning flowers. Alakazam sat there. I became bored with him and made him return. Suddenly, some flying monkeys came in and carried Charmander away. It was up to Gyarados and Dragonite to save him. Pidgeot stubbed its toe last week. Well, I left my pokemon to play and went inside a butcher shop where I bought some fresh meat. I then went to sears and bought a stove to cook it on. It was delicious. All the townspeople gathered around for a taste of my delicious steaks, then Locke showed up, fell over a cow, then left. As the night grew closer, we ate more and more. soon, we ate all the beef in the town. gyarados and Dragonite returned with Charmander, and I put him in his pokeball and set off again. Oh, how I want some grain.
